This is a very welcoming place and small facility, so you get a lot of one-on-one attention. The food is excellent and they take you on a lot of fun outings. If you want a good foundation to start your recovery, this is a wonderful facility.

Through my struggles the last two years, Tennessee Behavioral Health (TBH) is a safe place to rest. The staff is generous, kind, and truly care for each client. I’m grateful I was able to spend the last month with TBH. They saved my life. They did not judge me. Thank you TBH!

Loved the various counselors they have with years of practice. They have various styles and thus I think you’ll find several if not all, that are helpful in your journey.

TBH went above and beyond to help me with my recovery. I needed a 2 week reset after a relapse and they gave more effort and appreciation than the other recoveries I have been to they go above and beyond to help with one on one care and a super supportive family style care. Allison was one of the best parts with being super helpful as the program director

Healing, growth, a beautiful new beginning—and the new family I found along the way. My time at Tennessee Behavioral Health was a true journey of transformation. Through patience, compassion, and genuine care from the staff, I began to heal in ways I never expected. What started as an uncertain step toward change became one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I found peace, clarity, and confidence, and left with a deep sense of self and purpose that I’ll carry forever. The house at Tennessee Behavioral Health is truly a place of comfort and healing. The outings and gym time were always enjoyable and gave us moments to relax, recharge, and feel normal again. Charles’s groups were meaningful and encouraging, helping us learn, grow, and connect. Attending church brought peace and renewal. The health care staff is beyond exceptional. Morgan, the Health Care Director, leads with compassion and integrity, setting the tone for the team. Leah Lima, APN, and nurses Laci, Candi, Meghan, and Chantelle are extraordinary—each provides care that goes far beyond medical needs. They listen, support, and make you feel truly seen and valued, and their kindness and dedication made each day feel safe and hopeful. The technicians—Scott, Dylan, and Jack—are amazing. They’re patient, funny, and genuinely care. Whether it was a conversation, a shared laugh, or help with something small, they always brought warmth and positivity. Chris, the chef, is wonderful—his food is incredible. Every meal tasted like it came straight from a five-star restaurant, and his kindness made dining something to look forward to every day. Johnna, my case manager, truly changed my life. She understood me deeply and was there every step of the way—listening, guiding, and supporting me through my growth. Her compassion, humor, and steady encouragement helped me rediscover parts of myself I thought were gone. Johnna is one of those rare people who make you feel seen and supported no matter what, and I’ll always be grateful for her. Allison, the Program Director, is one of the most compassionate and genuine people I’ve ever met—and hilarious in the best way. Her humor brightens even the hardest days, and her laughter fills the house with warmth. Beyond that, Allison is an exceptional leader—she balances professionalism with heart, always taking time to listen and understand. She goes above and beyond for everyone under her care, advocating fiercely and offering support that’s both wise and heartfelt. Her empathy and authenticity make her someone who instantly feels like home. Albert, the Director of Tennessee Behavioral Health, is the heart and soul of the program. His dedication and compassion are unmatched. He pours his heart into every part of Tennessee Behavioral Health—the home, the staff, and every client. The love and effort he invests are felt in every corner of the house. Albert leads with sincerity, vision, and a true commitment to helping others heal. His presence inspires trust, hope, and belonging. His passion has built something truly special—something that changes lives every single day. I thank God for being blessed with Tennessee Behavioral Health. It isn’t just a program—it’s a family. I love each of them dearly for the compassion, encouragement, laughter, and faith they poured into me. They believed in me until I could believe in myself. Because of them, my life is filled with peace, confidence, and hope—and I’ll forever be grateful for everything Tennessee Behavioral Health gave me. ❤️

Importance of Process Group Therapy for Mental Health Treatment
Process group therapy plays a crucial role in addressing mental health concerns and improving therapeutic outcomes. It involves regular sessions where a group of 5-10 individuals explores their thoughts, emotions, and experiences under the guidance of a trained mental health professional. This approach is highly effective for addressing a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and substance use disorders.
Support and Validation
Group therapy provides a safe space where individuals can openly share their emotions and experiences, fostering a sense of validation. This atmosphere helps participants realize that their struggles are shared by others, reducing feelings of isolation and encouraging stronger interpersonal dynamics. Guided by a skilled psychotherapist or social worker, these sessions offer corrective experiences and build deeper relationships among group members.
Reducing Isolation
Feelings of isolation are common for individuals dealing with mental health issues like social anxiety or posttraumatic stress disorder. Through process group therapy sessions, participants gain a sense of community and belonging. Whether in residential settings or online platforms, group therapy creates a supportive network where individuals find solidarity and mutual understanding.
Learning from Peers
Process therapy emphasizes learning from peers by sharing life experiences, coping strategies, and insights. Participants gain perspective on their challenges by hearing from others who have faced similar relational issues or difficult emotions. This form of interpersonal learning helps group members develop new strategies for managing personal and family dynamics.
Improving Social Skills
Group therapy provides a structured environment to build social skills, such as active listening, effective communication, and empathy. Participants practice these skills in real-time, improving interpersonal interactions in their daily life. These sessions also focus on emotional regulation skills, helping participants navigate stressors with better self-awareness and reduced impulsivity.
Normalization
Sharing personal experiences in group therapy normalizes thoughts and feelings often linked to obsessive-compulsive disorder, anger management, or other challenges. This reduces self-stigma by demonstrating that such emotions are common responses to adversity. The therapeutic process reinforces the idea that personal struggles are part of the common process of recovery and growth.
Peer Accountability
Group members play a crucial role in holding each other accountable for goals, promoting commitment to personal growth. This shared responsibility enhances motivation and progress while encouraging emotional regulation. Guided by the directive approach of the therapist, participants support one another in meeting their commitments, fostering a cohesive environment for change.
Our Approach to Process Group Therapy
Process Group Therapy is a unique therapeutic experience that involves a group of individuals coming together to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a safe and supportive space. Our approach to Process Group Therapy includes:

These clinical psychologists and family therapists have a primary focus on guiding discussions, helping individuals explore their personal issues, and addressing underlying challenges. Their expertise ensures that group therapy remains a safe and effective approach to fostering personal growth.
Safe and Confidential Environment
Confidentiality is a cornerstone of process group therapy, ensuring that group members feel secure sharing their thoughts and emotions. The atmosphere of safety created by the therapist encourages openness and trust, allowing participants to discuss focused topics and explore sensitive issues without fear of judgment. This foundation of safety plans and practice guidelines builds strong relationships within the group.
Peer Support and Feedback
Group therapy provides a unique opportunity to receive feedback and support from peers. By sharing experiences and listening to others' stories, participants gain valuable insights that promote deeper exploration and self-awareness. This sense of solidarity and cohesion among group members fosters meaningful connections and aids in addressing relational issues and patterns.
Exploration and Self-Discovery
The therapy setting in process group therapy focuses on the present moment, encouraging participants to explore current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Through active discussions and guided interactions, individuals uncover insights into their interpersonal dynamics and behavior patterns. This form of therapy provides an integrated treatment approach that supports a well-rounded understanding of oneself while addressing personal and emotional regulation skills in a collaborative environment.

Emotional expression and regulation
Communication skills
