Medically supervised detox in a dedicated women’s track
24/7 residential care that continues after detox
Medical detox is the first step in treatment: safely clearing drugs or alcohol from your body while a medical team manages withdrawal. Detoxing without supervision can be dangerous, especially from alcohol, benzodiazepines, and opioids. Our team keeps you safe and as comfortable as possible in a 24/7 stabilization environment, monitoring your vitals, easing symptoms, and adjusting care to your body’s response as substances leave your system. A licensed medical team is on call throughout the process, ready to step in quickly if withdrawal becomes severe, so you are never left to manage the hardest hours on your own.
Within those men’s and women’s tracks, we provide medically supervised detox for a wide range of substances:
Detox for every substance takes place within those dedicated tracks, and you can explore our full substance use treatment options.
Our team brings together clinical and support staff who help clients find stability, build coping skills, and discover self-awareness.

Allison was one of the best parts with being super helpful as the program directorPosted on Google Lindsey RTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Healing, growth, a beautiful new beginning—and the new family I found along the way. My time at Tennessee Behavioral Health was a true journey of transformation. Through patience, compassion, and genuine care from the staff, I began to heal in ways I never expected. What started as an uncertain step toward change became one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I found peace, clarity, and confidence, and left with a deep sense of self and purpose that I’ll carry forever. The house at Tennessee Behavioral Health is truly a place of comfort and healing. The outings and gym time were always enjoyable and gave us moments to relax, recharge, and feel normal again. Charles’s groups were meaningful and encouraging, helping us learn, grow, and connect. Attending church brought peace and renewal. The health care staff is beyond exceptional. Morgan, the Health Care Director, leads with compassion and integrity, setting the tone for the team. Leah Lima, APN, and nurses Laci, Candi, Meghan, and Chantelle are extraordinary—each provides care that goes far beyond medical needs. They listen, support, and make you feel truly seen and valued, and their kindness and dedication made each day feel safe and hopeful. The technicians—Scott, Dylan, and Jack—are amazing. They’re patient, funny, and genuinely care. Whether it was a conversation, a shared laugh, or help with something small, they always brought warmth and positivity. Chris, the chef, is wonderful—his food is incredible. Every meal tasted like it came straight from a five-star restaurant, and his kindness made dining something to look forward to every day. Johnna, my case manager, truly changed my life. She understood me deeply and was there every step of the way—listening, guiding, and supporting me through my growth. Her compassion, humor, and steady encouragement helped me rediscover parts of myself I thought were gone. Johnna is one of those rare people who make you feel seen and supported no matter what, and I’ll always be grateful for her. Allison, the Program Director, is one of the most compassionate and genuine people I’ve ever met—and hilarious in the best way. Her humor brightens even the hardest days, and her laughter fills the house with warmth. Beyond that, Allison is an exceptional leader—she balances professionalism with heart, always taking time to listen and understand. She goes above and beyond for everyone under her care, advocating fiercely and offering support that’s both wise and heartfelt. Her empathy and authenticity make her someone who instantly feels like home. Albert, the Director of Tennessee Behavioral Health, is the heart and soul of the program. His dedication and compassion are unmatched. He pours his heart into every part of Tennessee Behavioral Health—the home, the staff, and every client. The love and effort he invests are felt in every corner of the house. Albert leads with sincerity, vision, and a true commitment to helping others heal. His presence inspires trust, hope, and belonging. His passion has built something truly special—something that changes lives every single day. I thank God for being blessed with Tennessee Behavioral Health. It isn’t just a program—it’s a family. I love each of them dearly for the compassion, encouragement, laughter, and faith they poured into me. They believed in me until I could believe in myself. Because of them, my life is filled with peace, confidence, and hope—and I’ll forever be grateful for everything Tennessee Behavioral Health gave me. ❤️
Our Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program brings structured treatment to you, wherever you are in Tennessee. Through secure video sessions, you take part in group and individual therapy on a set weekly schedule while living at home and keeping up with work, school, or family. Most clients attend several group sessions each week plus individual therapy, keeping the structure of treatment without stepping away from daily life. Virtual IOP is a strong fit for clients stepping down from inpatient care, and a practical option for people who live too far from our locations for in-person care. After residential treatment, some clients step down to sober living or our virtual IOP to protect early recovery.
Addiction and mental health often go hand in hand. Our dual-diagnosis treatment addresses both at the same time, because treating only one is usually not enough for lasting recovery. Our clinicians screen for co-occurring conditions from day one, so nothing gets missed and your plan reflects everything you are carrying. Whether you are facing depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, a personality disorder, adult ADHD, or grief alongside substance use, our team builds one coordinated plan that treats the full picture.
Recovery is stronger when loved ones are involved. Our weekly family program helps families understand addiction, rebuild trust, and learn how to support recovery at home. When families understand what recovery really asks of everyone, they can offer support that helps rather than hurts, and that makes a real difference after treatment ends. Weekly case management keeps your care coordinated, with the option to meet as needs come up, and we also offer family therapy and ongoing recovery support so the people who matter most can heal alongside you.
Detox stabilizes your body, but lasting recovery means addressing what is underneath. When detox is complete, most clients step directly into our inpatient residential program, so there is no gap in support and no scramble to find the next step. You will not have to navigate that handoff alone – your care team coordinates every detail, from your last day of detox to your first day in residential, keeping your momentum going during the most fragile early days.
Worried about cost? You may pay little to nothing out of pocket. Your insurance may cover 100% of your treatment, and our team will verify your benefits for you, quickly and confidentially.
We accept most major insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, Anthem, Carelon, and GEHA. If you are not sure what your plan covers, we will walk you through it in plain language and explain your options before you commit to anything.
Tennessee Behavioral Health is accredited by The Joint Commission, earning its Gold Seal of Approval for meeting rigorous standards of care. We are also licensed by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (TDMHSAS).
Here are answers to the questions we hear most often from clients and their families.

Will my insurance cover treatment?
Often, yes. We accept most major plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, Anthem, Carelon, and GEHA, and your insurance may cover 100% of treatment. We will verify your benefits at no cost.
What levels of care do you offer?
Three levels of care: medical detox, inpatient residential treatment, and a virtual intensive outpatient program (IOP), so you can move through the right level of care as your needs change.
