TBH went above and beyond to help me with my recovery. I needed a 2 week reset after a relapse and they gave more effort and appreciation than the other recoveries I have been to they go above and beyond to help with one on one care and a super supportive family style care. Allison was one of the best parts with being super helpful as the program director

Healing, growth, a beautiful new beginning—and the new family I found along the way.
My time at Tennessee Behavioral Health was a true journey of transformation. Through patience, compassion, and genuine care from the staff, I began to heal in ways I never expected. What started as an uncertain step toward change became one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I found peace, clarity, and confidence, and left with a deep sense of self and purpose that I’ll carry forever.
The house at Tennessee Behavioral Health is truly a place of comfort and healing. The outings and gym time were always enjoyable and gave us moments to relax, recharge, and feel normal again. Charles’s groups were meaningful and encouraging, helping us learn, grow, and connect. Attending church brought peace and renewal.
The health care staff is beyond exceptional. Morgan, the Health Care Director, leads with compassion and integrity, setting the tone for the team. Leah Lima, APN, and nurses Laci, Candi, Meghan, and Chantelle are extraordinary—each provides care that goes far beyond medical needs. They listen, support, and make you feel truly seen and valued, and their kindness and dedication made each day feel safe and hopeful.
The technicians—Scott, Dylan, and Jack—are amazing. They’re patient, funny, and genuinely care. Whether it was a conversation, a shared laugh, or help with something small, they always brought warmth and positivity.
Chris, the chef, is wonderful—his food is incredible. Every meal tasted like it came straight from a five-star restaurant, and his kindness made dining something to look forward to every day.
Johnna, my case manager, truly changed my life. She understood me deeply and was there every step of the way—listening, guiding, and supporting me through my growth. Her compassion, humor, and steady encouragement helped me rediscover parts of myself I thought were gone. Johnna is one of those rare people who make you feel seen and supported no matter what, and I’ll always be grateful for her.
Allison, the Program Director, is one of the most compassionate and genuine people I’ve ever met—and hilarious in the best way. Her humor brightens even the hardest days, and her laughter fills the house with warmth. Beyond that, Allison is an exceptional leader—she balances professionalism with heart, always taking time to listen and understand. She goes above and beyond for everyone under her care, advocating fiercely and offering support that’s both wise and heartfelt. Her empathy and authenticity make her someone who instantly feels like home.
Albert, the Director of Tennessee Behavioral Health, is the heart and soul of the program. His dedication and compassion are unmatched. He pours his heart into every part of Tennessee Behavioral Health—the home, the staff, and every client. The love and effort he invests are felt in every corner of the house. Albert leads with sincerity, vision, and a true commitment to helping others heal. His presence inspires trust, hope, and belonging. His passion has built something truly special—something that changes lives every single day.
I thank God for being blessed with Tennessee Behavioral Health. It isn’t just a program—it’s a family. I love each of them dearly for the compassion, encouragement, laughter, and faith they poured into me. They believed in me until I could believe in myself. Because of them, my life is filled with peace, confidence, and hope—and I’ll forever be grateful for everything Tennessee Behavioral Health gave me. ❤️

Understanding PTSD
PTSD symptoms may include intrusive memories, dissociative reactions, emotional numbness, avoidance behaviors, and physical symptoms like chronic pain. These symptoms often affect everyday life, healthy relationships, and emotional regulation. Whether caused by ongoing abuse, systemic trauma, or adverse childhood experiences, our therapeutic program is designed to support individuals through effective treatment. Our experienced team uses a combination of somatic therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and creative modalities to address the underlying issues and behavioral patterns that stem from distressing experiences.
Relief from Trauma Symptoms
Treatment for PTSD aims to alleviate the distressing symptoms associated with trauma, including flashbacks, nightmares, and severe anxiety. This relief is essential for an individual's mental well-being.
Prevention of Long-Term Consequences
Untreated PTSD can lead to long-term psychological and physical consequences, such as chronic depression, substance abuse, and health issues. Seeking treatment can help prevent these lasting effects.
Improved Quality of Life
PTSD often interferes with an individual's ability to engage in daily life, hold a job, and maintain relationships. Treatment helps individuals regain their functionality, leading to an improved quality of life.
Reduction in Risky Behaviors
Individuals with untreated PTSD may engage in risky behaviors as a way to cope with their symptoms, such as substance abuse or self-harm. Treatment can reduce these risky behaviors, promoting safer and healthier coping strategies.
Restored Sense of Safety
PTSD can lead to a constant state of hypervigilance and fear. Treatment helps individuals reestablish a sense of safety and security in their lives.
Prevention of Suicidal Ideation
PTSD increases the risk of suicidal ideation and behaviors. Treatment can address this risk and help individuals regain their will to live.
Types of Traumatic Events
Trauma can result from many life experiences. Common sources of trauma include:
Domestic violence
Sexual trauma
Military combat
Natural disasters
Childhood abuse or neglect
Serious accidents
Each individual client processes trauma differently, which is why Tennessee Behavioral Health provides personalized treatment plans to match specific needs. Our mental health treatment program combines a holistic approach with a full continuum of care, ensuring every person receives the proper level of care.
Key Symptoms of PTSD
Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms are grouped into four main categories. These symptoms may develop after a traumatic event such as sexual abuse, military experiences, or chronic trauma. Without proper treatment from experienced professionals, these symptoms can severely affect daily living and overall mental health.
Re-experiencing symptoms
These include flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, and distressing memories. Trauma victims may relive the initial trauma through nightmares or physical reactions to triggers. These symptoms often cause emotional pain and interfere with physical health and interpersonal functioning.
Avoidance behaviors
Also known as avoidance symptoms, individuals may avoid places, people, or activities that remind them of the trauma. This is a common response in individuals dealing with complex trauma or co-occurring PTSD. Avoidance may lead to isolation and impact personal relationships and community-focused care efforts.
Negative thought patterns
People may experience persistent guilt, shame, or detachment from loved ones. These changes in mood are linked to depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, or other co-occurring psychological disorders. Mental health professionals focus on helping clients rebuild thought patterns during the therapeutic process.
Reactivity symptoms
Symptoms include increased irritability, exaggerated startle responses, and difficulty concentrating. These behavioral challenges may worsen over time without individualized treatment and intensive care.
