This is a very welcoming place and small facility, so you get a lot of one-on-one attention. The food is excellent and they take you on a lot of fun outings. If you want a good foundation to start your recovery, this is a wonderful facility.

Through my struggles the last two years, Tennessee Behavioral Health (TBH) is a safe place to rest. The staff is generous, kind, and truly care for each client. I’m grateful I was able to spend the last month with TBH. They saved my life. They did not judge me. Thank you TBH!

Loved the various counselors they have with years of practice. They have various styles and thus I think you’ll find several if not all, that are helpful in your journey.

TBH went above and beyond to help me with my recovery. I needed a 2 week reset after a relapse and they gave more effort and appreciation than the other recoveries I have been to they go above and beyond to help with one on one care and a super supportive family style care. Allison was one of the best parts with being super helpful as the program director

Healing, growth, a beautiful new beginning—and the new family I found along the way. My time at Tennessee Behavioral Health was a true journey of transformation. Through patience, compassion, and genuine care from the staff, I began to heal in ways I never expected. What started as an uncertain step toward change became one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I found peace, clarity, and confidence, and left with a deep sense of self and purpose that I’ll carry forever. The house at Tennessee Behavioral Health is truly a place of comfort and healing. The outings and gym time were always enjoyable and gave us moments to relax, recharge, and feel normal again. Charles’s groups were meaningful and encouraging, helping us learn, grow, and connect. Attending church brought peace and renewal. The health care staff is beyond exceptional. Morgan, the Health Care Director, leads with compassion and integrity, setting the tone for the team. Leah Lima, APN, and nurses Laci, Candi, Meghan, and Chantelle are extraordinary—each provides care that goes far beyond medical needs. They listen, support, and make you feel truly seen and valued, and their kindness and dedication made each day feel safe and hopeful. The technicians—Scott, Dylan, and Jack—are amazing. They’re patient, funny, and genuinely care. Whether it was a conversation, a shared laugh, or help with something small, they always brought warmth and positivity. Chris, the chef, is wonderful—his food is incredible. Every meal tasted like it came straight from a five-star restaurant, and his kindness made dining something to look forward to every day. Johnna, my case manager, truly changed my life. She understood me deeply and was there every step of the way—listening, guiding, and supporting me through my growth. Her compassion, humor, and steady encouragement helped me rediscover parts of myself I thought were gone. Johnna is one of those rare people who make you feel seen and supported no matter what, and I’ll always be grateful for her. Allison, the Program Director, is one of the most compassionate and genuine people I’ve ever met—and hilarious in the best way. Her humor brightens even the hardest days, and her laughter fills the house with warmth. Beyond that, Allison is an exceptional leader—she balances professionalism with heart, always taking time to listen and understand. She goes above and beyond for everyone under her care, advocating fiercely and offering support that’s both wise and heartfelt. Her empathy and authenticity make her someone who instantly feels like home. Albert, the Director of Tennessee Behavioral Health, is the heart and soul of the program. His dedication and compassion are unmatched. He pours his heart into every part of Tennessee Behavioral Health—the home, the staff, and every client. The love and effort he invests are felt in every corner of the house. Albert leads with sincerity, vision, and a true commitment to helping others heal. His presence inspires trust, hope, and belonging. His passion has built something truly special—something that changes lives every single day. I thank God for being blessed with Tennessee Behavioral Health. It isn’t just a program—it’s a family. I love each of them dearly for the compassion, encouragement, laughter, and faith they poured into me. They believed in me until I could believe in myself. Because of them, my life is filled with peace, confidence, and hope—and I’ll forever be grateful for everything Tennessee Behavioral Health gave me. ❤️

Importance of Trauma Therapy for Mental Health
Trauma therapy is of paramount importance for mental health because it offers critical support and counseling services for individuals who have experienced traumatic life events. A form of therapy designed to address the negative impact of trauma, it helps individuals process and heal from the emotional pain, disturbing symptoms, and physical symptoms associated with trauma.
A therapeutic relationship built on compassionate environment and trauma-informed care provides individuals with a sense of safety and allows them to explore their difficult experiences in a collaborative environment. Approaches to therapy such as cognitive-behavioral techniques, art therapy, and holistic therapies support healing on a deeper level.
Addressing Unresolved Trauma
Traumatic experiences, whether from childhood abuse, accidents, combat, or other events, can leave emotional wounds that fester over time. Trauma therapy provides a safe space to address these unresolved issues.
Reducing Symptoms of PTSD
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a common outcome of trauma. Therapy, particularly evidence-based treatments like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), can significantly reduce the symptoms of PTSD.
Managing Emotional Dysregulation
Trauma can lead to emotional dysregulation, where individuals have difficulty controlling their emotions, leading to mood swings, anger, and intense anxiety. Therapy equips individuals with tools to manage these emotional challenges.
Enhancing Coping Strategies
Trauma therapy teaches individuals effective coping strategies to deal with triggers, stress, and anxiety. These strategies help prevent unhealthy coping mechanisms, such as substance abuse.
Improving Relationships
Trauma can impact one's ability to form and maintain healthy relationships. Therapy can help individuals develop better communication and relational skills.
Reducing Risk of Self-Harm and Suicidal Ideation
Individuals with unresolved trauma may be at a higher risk of self-harm and suicidal thoughts. Trauma therapy can provide support and coping strategies to reduce these risks.

EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps reprocess painful memories, reducing their emotional impact. This therapeutic approach is beneficial for individuals dealing with adverse childhood experiences, attachment issues, and distressing events that continue to affect their mental health issues and behavioral issues.
Exposure Therapy
Exposure therapy is a structured approach that allows individuals to confront and process traumatic life events in a safe healing space. This method is particularly useful for those experiencing sleep disturbances, relationship issues, or emotional regulation issues, providing a path toward healing through gradual exposure to triggers.

Managing the physical impacts and emotional distress caused by trauma is an essential part of the process of healing. Mindfulness and relaxation techniques help individuals regain control over their pattern of living, reducing stress management difficulties, bipolar disorders, and mood disorders.
